madness

last night at muc basically killed. it's a very refreshing thing when you've got a good selection of your favorites, all in one place, belting out radio gems in front of a television screen. you know what's not refreshing?

a chronic lack of cash. this morning, I came to the conclusion that I am somewhat of a bum. I don't have a job and I don't make up for this fact by, like, doing my schoolwork. I've been putting off two papers for almost a month and I am still at the point where it wouldn't shake me so much to just not turn the fuckers in. and I'm sort of stuck in limbo at this point, where it's about a month until I leave for a month and a half in europe. who wants to hire someone for a month? and that sounds like a bunch of excuses but for now, it's the truth. anyway, I need to line up something nice for when I get back to the states, and I am not going back to the gym. ever.

anyway, the graphic above and the current climes in the d.c. really only do nothing but exacerbate the problem (yeah jazzy, you're oppressing me with them kool & the gang samples). it's getting warm, getting beautiful, and shit. I want go out. I want to buy new warm weather apparel and nice shoes and eat out and fix up my bike. summer madness is here and I'm afraid mine will have to be contained for the time being. what is a gal to do?

re: crap

so the show last week was what would call a success. as noted earlier, puja came into the studio for an exclusive guest hosting, spreading hollerations and love everywhere. as well as absolut citron. check the stream if you missed my girl's FCC violations and not-so-subtle disses to blonde-haired, rapping aspiring tricenarians everywhere.

damn, gotta split my time slot up on that schedule. aint no way I'm changing the numbers around.

so I'm thinking of doing a disco edition this week essentially because I'm bored by finding music and busy as hell. the semester's about to end and I'm very excited for the time when this blog switches over from radio show to france chroniclez.

I'll be spending the entire month of june in paris with family and two weeks in july exploring bilbao, spain (aka hometown). and I mean, I'm sure the blog in many ways will involve acquisition/experiencing of music, and hopefully I'll actually own a digital camera by then (omgz innanet). so I'll have a space to post photos of myself chilling with justice and yelle and sebastiAn. riiiight.

anyway, here is your moment of zen:

uhhhh, cool

so......... blogging is clearly working out quite well for me.

I can't figure out if my life is not interesting enough or simply too interesting to blog about. most likely the former, since I've spent most of this week in bed with the flu. fantastic.

tonight is this week's installment of stands for decibels, with special guest host puja patel, dear friend and blackout buddy extraordinaire.

homie's been busy as hell planning her massive, epic debut bash in downtown $ilver $pring, Sunday's Best. that's may 6, kids, doors at 9 and a mere $5 cover. you know I'll be there.

other than that, not much doing. sickness has kept me bedridden and CNN/NYT-obsessive. this virginia tech massacre is insane. if this isn't a wake-up call to the next Administration to get on that assault weapons ban shit, I don't know what else would be.

a dB.
